Excellent story! It reminds me of a short story I just read called "To Thine Own Self" by my newest favourite author, Julie Booker (From Up, Up, Up, House of Anasi Press). Anyway, congratulations.

I really enjoyed the musical metaphors here. It feels like Diana, through her illness, has become attuned to much deeper songs, ancient and unending.
