The Elixir of Life

This was a short story I wrote for Event 1 of The Writer's Workout, Writers Games. I highly recommend this competition to any writer wanting to give themselves a challenge and hone their skills.

For this event the brief was to create a scary short story in 72 hours out of something mundane, for instance where the main character has a fear of something others see as an everyday object.

This story was ultimately disqualified as the judges felt there was insufficient fear present, but I was happy with the poignant little story nonetheless.
