"There ain't no margin in it," would be my response to anyone who might ask about writing short fiction. Yet, I persist. Back in 2014, I read a collection of flash fiction by well-known authors in Popular Science (https://www.popsci.com/article/science/dispatches-future). I liked it the stories a) because they were free b) because they offered a window into "the brightest minds" of science fiction and c) because each short story had its own illustration all of which I enjoyed. Cool concept, slow execution. I'd suggest because no one is making bank off this at PopSci. Honestly, I've never submitted to PopSci and I may never. Yet, I have this growing collection of shorts that won't ever be seen by another human being unless I get them out there. Thus, I offer you, hungry reader, a glimpse into my mind with no pretense. B-Sides is just that, enjoy.
