This is a series of articles about Ayutthaya, Thailand, the historical capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom of Thailand (1350-1767).

MG Edwards is a writer of books and stories in the mystery, thriller and science fiction-fantasy genres. He also writes travel adventures and children’s books. A former U.S. diplomat, he served in South Korea, Paraguay, and Zambia before leaving the Foreign Service in 2011 to write full time. 

Edwards is author of six books. His travel memoir, Kilimanjaro: One Man’s Quest to Go Over the Hill, is the first book in the World Adventurers Series and a finalist for the Book of the Year Award and Global eBook Award. He has published four children’s picture books in the World Adventurers for Kids Series, including Alexander the Salamander, Ellie the Elephant, Zoe the Zebra, and a 3-in-1 book collection featuring all three stories. His book Real Dreams: Thirty Years of Short Stories is a collection of 15 short stories from many genres. He is currently writing the next book in the World Adventurers Series, a memoir about his father’s experience in the Vietnam War.

Edwards lives in Singapore with his wife Jing and son. He has also lived in Austria and Thailand, and visited more than 50 countries around the world. His passion is to travel, experience other cultures, and share it with readers.
