"He won't trouble you from now on. Don't worry," Ethan replied in a calm and collected voice. He was speaking as if Alex would suddenly disappear altogether. Yes, he was badly hurt. Yes, his whole army got hurt, but that does not mean he will keep quiet. I can tell bastards like him, just by looking at them. I have even spoken to one up close and personal. The faster I understand what he actually means, the better and pleasant the future will be for him and me.
"What do you mean by that?" I said. Anxiety was rising inside of me, but I let none of it shows through my words.
"You should rest for now. Let's talk tomorrow okay?" He glanced at me for a second and smiled, then continued to focus on driving.
He wanted to evade the topic smoothly, but I that's simply not how it works with me. "Tomorrow is Sunday," I said with a sneer.
"Who said that we can only meet on school days, right?" What did he mean by that? Why will we meet tomorrow? We've never done that since school started, so why has he suddenly decided to now? My mind could explode any second.
