The Blind Mate
"Every time I close my eyes, my heart opens wider at the thought of your everyday struggle." I breathed to Alexander as his wide eyes bore into my now disbelieving figure. Did I really say that out loud?
An awkward silence encloses around the once spacious room, the walls seemed to now only provide me with the feeling of claustrophobia. Looking around anywhere to avoid his intense gaze, my eyes search for a near exit. Somewhere that would take me away from this uncomfortable situation, even if the floor happens to open up and swallow me, I would happily allow it.
"The struggle isn't not being able to see," He muttered softly as I looked up from the ground wearily. As my eyes caught his black orbs of darkness, he continued with a small flint of determination shining in his beautiful eyes. "It is not being able to envy the women of my dreams as she tries to escape my invisible hold." The sadness seeped out of his voice and floated around the room as I was able to breathe again.
