"And while you left this town, while you left me, I stayed in this godforsaken place wishing I could leave. But I still can't. How was it so easy for you."

"It wasn't easy. None of this is easy."

Mary, along with many of the Stronghold lineage before her, was born and raised in Beacon Hills. When the fire that killed almost all of the Hales and Strongholds, many other werewolf packs and supernatural beings left. Beacon Hills became deserted, and probably for the better. Mary and her non-supernatural Aunt had stayed in Beacon Hills, in the house that Mary's mother and father owned. Mary was only sixteen then. Now seven years later, Mary feels something in the pit of her chest. The same feeling she got the day of the fire. Mary knew that something was coming to Beacon Hills again.
