Amelia Diaz is an average woman with an average desk job, the highlight of her day consists of her daily visit to the small coffee shop cafe on the corner. It happens to be run by her high school crush Eric Corté. When one of Eric's old college flames shows up Amelia is recruited to be his pretend girlfriend. 

Eric Corté runs the small coffee shop on the corner. He's had some lousy relationships in his time but he's on the up and up as he runs the shop with his one faithful worker. He finds himself in a bind as he uses Amelia as a buffer between him and his ex. However a situation arises where he can pay his debt as Amelia's teasing cousin makes an appearance and the fake dating officially or unofficially starts.
