Captain Andrew Craskell, a veteran with more experience in space than any other fleet, is handpicked to a lead a mission which entails building a spaceport and setting up mining operations in Uranus' orbit. All he wants to do is retire but fate's not done with him just yet.

Four months before their final preparations to orbit Uranus, they lose all communications with Earth and everywhere else... With all contact lost, Earth decimated, nowhere to run and another attack imminent, how will Captain Craskell and the crew of the Tama Maru adapt? Will they survive or are they in too deep?
