Seventeen year old Kelsea wells doesn't know what it's like to have a hometown, to have friends, or even to have a bedroom. Her and her mother embrace their gypsy souls, never living in the same place twice and never staying in one place for more than three months. They bounce from town to town, job to job, and never complain.
This lifestyle is dangerous, as her mother found out, and now Kelsea is forced to live with a family of spoiled strangers and bide her time until she's eighteen. She breaks all of her rules her mother once enforced and what happens when she starts to like it there? Will she stay? Will she do what her mother never wanted for her and settle down in one place? Or will she honor her mother's wishes and let the road guide her to where she needs to be?
