The cold night air made Marinette shiver and cuddle into the red scarf that wrapped around her neck. She looked at the bright lights of Paris, of her city. A city of love. A city of light and happiness. Yet she had none. She clenched the charm Adrien had given her what felt like so long ago. He was all that was left. Everyone had left her. Her parents were disappointed in her. Her friends were angry. She heard the flapping wings of an Akuma and closed her eyes. She didn't try to stop it from taking over the charm in her hand, dark energy spreading through the trinket as his voice calmly entered her mind. As she uttered the words she was sure she would never say, she held the lucky charm close and listened to her thoughts as she lost control. Adrien and Chat. Adrien and Chat. That was all that was left. And then Marinette Dupan Cheng fell- no, she flew- off the edge of the Eiffel Tower to reveal her akumatized form. It all came in a rush that surprised even Hawkmoth because at that moment she felt every negative emotion, everything she was ever angry about came  through her mind, powering her body. It was everything. It was all the things. It was all the things she felt.

Lately, she had been following Adrien and Lila after hearing the rumour of them being together. Marinette didn't believe it, and no matter how stalkerish that sounded, she still wanted to find out herself. She wanted to see it with her own two eyes. Finally, she leaned over and peeked at the corner, where Adrien and Lila were sitting on a bench. Marinette could feel her eyes widening when she saw both lips pressed against each other's, both of them engaged in a kiss, which shattered Marinette's heart. She had hoped that her crush wasn't dating another girl, but here she was, seeing them kiss with her own two eyes. The situation made her upset, but her stomach also hurt from the anger she was feeling. She clenched onto her stomach and willed herself not to cry, but instead, her legs gave way and she landed on her knees, more unsettling anger rushing through her body like large waves. Marinette has always been there for Paris as Ladybug with the help of the charming Chat Noir. After having a terrible accident, Marinette is unable to help her fellow team mate fight off akumatised victims and without the help of Ladybug's Lucky Charm Paris falls into a state of deep peril. With the burden of Paris growing on his shoulders, Chat Noir starts to slowly give up more and more. As well as when he checks up on Marinette he's all battered and bruised. Unable to deal with the guilt Marinette is faced with two decisions. One, either she stay in bed and let her body recover while Hawkmoth comes closer to winning, or two, she transforms into Ladybug again in the state she is in hoping that it won't be her last battle. I don't own any miraculous characters only the story!
