"Is this your boyfriend?" The blonde guy, who has since identified himself as Ryan, asks me about Damien as he stands there awkwardly. "Nope!" I giggle, like I have absolutely no sense. But did I really though-actually have any sense in me? If I did, I would cut my loses and go home. But here I am, pushing this to see how far it will go. I don't know why. I'm fueled by frustration and I don't know how else to get Damien's attention. "Really?" He asks, gesturing towards Damien. "Don't mind him." I shrug. "We're just friends." "Good." Ryan smirks, ordering us both a drink. "Don't drink that." Damien demands as he stands there with his arms crossed as if he's waiting for me to stop throwing my tantrum and come with him. Despite the fact that I am acting like a child, I hate that he's treating me like one. "So, you don't have a boyfriend?" Ryan continues as he sips his drink. I politely pick up the drink he got for me but don't actually take a sip. I don't want to admit that it's because Damien told me not to. "I guess I don't." I laugh, shooting a glare at Damien and he definitely gets the message. "This is bullshit." He says finally, sighing as takes the drink from my hand and sets it down at the bar. "Yes, she does have a fucking boyfriend." Damien doesn't say anything else and before I can say anything to Ryan, Damien drags me away from the bar by my wrist. We head back to the table but it's all a blur and because I'm drunk, I begin to get dizzy. _____________________________________________________________ Twenty-five year old Harper Grey leaves behind her old life as she leaves for graduate school across the country She meets the handsome and aloof, Damien Crane and is immediately drawn to him, she realizes that they are too different for it to work.
