He looked at her in surprise, his dark eyes filling with an emotion no one couldn't place.
"Abigale," He breathed her name in a weak whimper, his lower lip trembling before he turned his head away from her.
Her eyes travelled down his body once more, her heart beating painfully loud in her chest when she took note of how badly he was wounded.
So much blood.
So many scars.
"Get out of here. I don't need your help." He grunted, still refusing to look at her.
Even battered and chained to the floor, he still had his pride.
He sucked in a harsh breath and jerked away from her hand when her fingertips brushed against his bare back.
"God, Lucan," She breathed in a horrified whisper. "Who did this to you?"
"Go away," He growled, but underneath his anger she could hear his pain.
"I'm going to help you, and you're going to shut up and let me." She said, in the steadiest voice she could muster.
"Go. Away." He snapped, jerking on the chains clasped around his ankles and wrists. The distinct smell of burning flesh met the air and Lucan hissed in pain.
"Make me, Mr. Alpha." She whispered hoarsely.
Being the son of an always angry, power hungry Alpha isn't easy.
Lucan has been ridiculed, beaten and discarded everyday for as long as he can remember.
It has broken him, and now he's what people call a monster.
People are scared of him and that's how he likes it.
Abigale Hale is his complete opposite.
She's polite, kind and loving.
She has a loving family and great friends.
Imagine her shock when Lucan cuts himself into her life and claims her as his.
Even though he's a jerk, he has a heart.
It's a little broken.
A little bruised.
And a little cold.
But it's there.
And Abigale is dead set on saving her Alpha.
