Rosalina Walker is a tough girl with a rough past. After enduring her parent's divorce, she swore off purposeful romances for good. Rather than risking someone cheating on her and breaking her heart, Rosalina would prefer the whole "friends-with-benefits" concept. Even if her sister and her sister's fiancé are proof that love can, in fact, conquer all.

Fresh out of university with a degree in physical therapy, Rosalina makes a spontaneous decision and moves to Toronto to take advantage of a job opportunity. For the first couple of months, it works out well. Not only does she see her sister more often, but she's beginning to feel like she belongs somewhere.

That is until Luke Madden is admitted into the physical rehab centre she works at and is assigned as her patient. Due to his fear of losing hockey as a career, Luke is stubborn and seemingly arrogant about letting Rosalina treat him. But, as time passes, things begin to blossom between Luke and Rosalina.
