Sometimes, you have to make your own destiny...
Silay has spent her whole life looking forward to Fortune Day, the ceremony that will mark her entrance into adulthood. More than that, on Fortune Day she will be granted a glimpse into her future, and discover what she is destined to become. But when it is her turn to learn her fate, the Seer sees nothing in Silay's future. Made an outcast by the people of her town, Silay finds herself alone until news of a coming plague gives her the chance to become the one thing she believed she could never be...a Hero.

I understand what you said about not having lengthy descriptions of the setting and characters, but frankly I prefer shorter prologues, more to the point, so for me it worked :)

Very mysterious! I am already loving this story. It kind of has a game of thrones feel to it without all the killings of course. keep up the great work!

Hi Emma, sorry I was offline for a while - holiday in Southern Spain, absolutely gorgeous but now back to reality. At least I can read books again, It was nice not to have internet once in a while. Let's see what Silay has been up to recently. See that you changed the cover of your book like it.

Thank you! And for your reassurance about descriptions. Unfortantuantly, even though I do have a lot more chapters to add them in...I don't. Needs some rewriting :)

My mousey senses are tingling! Ooh, I foresee an enjoyable read by the window with warm coffee in my mug. How do you pronounce her name by the way? Is it See-lay or Psy-lay? I'm leaning towards Psy-lay, but if she turns out to be a badass I'll call her Slay. Okay, I'm gonna start this story now.

I've been looking for some good fantasy to read for a long time, and this looks so interesting! I'm excited to keep going. I already like how you write :)
