Shadow was a very happy man, he was thirty four years old and married to his beautiful Rouge. They had a son, Silver, who he loved dearly and he felt like his life was complete. Until.. Rouge cheats on the man after six years of marriage.
He is completely heart broken and instead of fighting to keep their marriage alive, she demands a divorce. Shadow doesn't fight it and signs the papers, he assumes Rouge would take the kid but she didn't! It was the one good thing she did for him.
Shadow uses the money he had saved to move them into a very small studio and they must continue living without her. Silver is barely seven, he is unable to comprehend the idea of divorce and believes Rouge will come back.
It hurts the ebony hedgehog to see Silver so hopefully but he knew the truth would hit him one way or another.
Shadow tells himself he is done with dating and love completely until he meets Silver's second grade teacher, Sonic.
The dad never thought he'd find love again but this man.. he makes him feel good! Everything about Sonic made Shadow smile again and they start to fall for each other, the only problem is Silver.
Shadow notices Silver wanting Rouge more and more and he decides he isn't ready for another parent and he could possibly try to get Rouge back for him. He pushes away his own happiness for Silver but that doesn't stop Sonic from trying, Shadow deserved a good partner and Silver deserved some sort of motherly figure! They both deserved New Beginnings
