Taken by Nightfall
Set in 1986, 14-year-old Alexandra Brooks writes a daily journal about her family's vacation in a small village near Charleston, South Carolina. Ian Brooks learns that the house they're staying in has a mysterious background; Ever since 1936, on the last night of every family's vacation, a belonging has gone missing from every family who has stayed there. Every year, the stolen item gets more and more elaborate. The first item taken in 1936 was a pair of sunglasses. The last item taken in 1985 was a family's car. When the family arrives there, they notice a storage room with a note on it that says that it always has to be locked. Alexandra, Ian, and their friends, Melanie and Lucas, start theorizing that there is something or someone in there who's taking everyone's possessions. On the last night of their vacation, the friends hear a loud scream, and Melanie mysteriously goes missing. Did the creature inside the locked up room take her? Or is she just playing a mean trick? The three friends, along with people they meet on their way, set out on an adventure to see what really happened, and to solve this mystery that has been going on for 50 years, even if it means sacrifice.
