What happens when your marriage isn't working anymore?
"The tank was enormous, decorated better than her own office. Above the bright turquoise gravel sat thick patches of coral reefs and intricately detailed synthetic plants. The fish swimming in the silky waters, looked magnificent, at first. They seemed to swim around the tank gracefully, with their paper thin fins trailing their movements like ribbon dancers. Those wispy fins danced around the tank like sheets of chiffon. Beautiful. Perfect. Breathtaking. But, when you spent enough time studying them, you began making out the oddities: the way the fish circled the same circuit, or how they never seemed to waver from their paths. Then you wondered, how? You'd study the fish long enough, until you saw that little black dot. First, you'd think you were imagining it, but then you kept seeing it, that black switch attached to their under bellies. And then, it was all you could see. The fish began to look mechanic, all of a sudden. Not so wispy anymore.
And you wonder: Wouldn't it have been so much better if you never knew?"
