What You're Told
"You look cute when you're deep in thought." He said, his eyes sparkling as he looked at me.
"Why did you never pay attention to me before, like this? Why now?" I whispered, not being able to hold back from asking him all the questions clouding my mind.
"You never gave me the chance, remember? I don't even know, really, why I'm like this with you. I'm usually a player, I don't hold hands," He nodded down towards our tangled fingers and smiled. "But I'm happy right now, and that's all that really matters. I don't know how my friends would take this, but hey, it's summer." He spoke quietly, and bore his eyes into mine.
My partially understanding expression seemed to be enough, because he continued. "I've always been the popular guy. Everyone around me cares about what they look like more than they care about what they feel." He sighed deeply. I felt like I was getting to hear what nobody else knew. Like I was interfering in his thoughts.
Annie has a past, unlike others. She was hurt by the father of the boy next door, but she still can't stay away from Justin, despite his bad-boy/popular reputation. She's sure to get in trouble, and her friend Liz is coaxing her along, and soon Annie unleashes her wild side, and faces love, being broken, and her past.
