By the year 2073, the world has undergone huge advancements in technology. From futuristic vehicles (flying cars are being made by the infamous inventor, Edward Hallisey) to Virtual Reality Centers (they became possible after VR body immersion was discovered and enhanced by Owen Yearling), things have certainly changed from the way they used to be. In the midst of the growing use of electronic devices and inventions being put to the test, a thirteen-year-old girl named Eva tries her hardest to view the world she lives in as a wonderful place full of light and possibility. But as she and the people around her come to realize, technology certainly does not solve everyone's problems. Families still have discord, friendships can break apart, and darkness can ultimately try to weave its way into the chaos. How will Eva, her family, and five of her new friends find shelter from the fear and negativity in their lives? Side note: I take NO CREDIT for the general idea of the online game Flee the Facility, which became the basis for a crucial part of this story. (I guess that makes this a science fiction... fanfic? Who knows.) Everything else is original.
