The young emperor Vengelis Epsilon narrowly escapes the reckoning of his empire at the hands of strange machines known as Felixes. The Felixes are identical in every respect to the godlike men of Vengelis's world save for their mechanical blue eyes. Feared to be indestructible, the wanton holocaust of the Felix appears inescapable. His family murdered and his empire maimed under a shadow of destruction, Vengelis pursues the pained final words of his dying mentor, and sets course for a remote and unchartered world-our world.

Maybe instead of waylaid you could use delayed. You don't want to use something that implicates they permanently saved Anthem because you just introduced to the read another problem. So delayed sounds more in tune and "real-time" with the story

I like the mysterious tone you added into it. Makes me feel as lost as everyone else in the story.

An empire in devastation. I love your style. I've been searching for something other than Star Wars novels to read and I'm to have stumbled upon this story.

I do like the prose. Each vague term seems to thrive in the description that you have written, thereby confounding the confusion, and projecting a very developed vocabulary of images. that pushes the story along.
