HIGHLAND PARK, Texas - Highland Park philanthropist and financial professional Gary Bassett is celebrating 14 years of service to his community as director and sole investment manager of the Red River Valley Council. Within the community, Bassett has served as the treasurer for his Parent-Teacher Organization for seven years. He served as the president of the Reach for the Stars Foundation for eight years, providing over $200,000 in scholarships to young people. Bassett has also been honored as a major donor to the Valley of the Caddo Foundation for eight years. Bassett received his Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. He has held a number of roles within financial institutions and community organizations for several years. He lived and worked in New York City as an investment banker with Morgan Guaranty Trust for four years. He served as a senior vice president at Bank of America for eight years and as president of MicroBank Software for another eight.
