The surface world lost to the brutal forces of nature, humanity has retreated to the depths of the earth, leaving behind everything that was. In an act of desperation, they create a virtual universe, a reality beyond our own. Project Reality is born. In it are hundreds of worlds, each with their own individual theme and near infinite space. Immense numbers of people are resting in an eternal sleep, stored away, their minds separate from their bodies. While the scientists and laborers work endlessly to find a way to reclaim the surface, the rest of the surviving humans live in a false reality. All seems well, but there is evil everywhere. No place is safe. Thus, it begins. Imperfections appear in the simulations, corrupt employees of The Corporation tamper with the Core, and an artificial life form's consciousness is injected into the system. People within the simulation itself are turning against each other, and the trust and peace of the world is crumpling. It is down to those who remain determined to remain human, to stay true, to defeat this new evil. They don't know why it's happening. They don't know who, or what is behind it. But they know it needs to be stopped. But can it be done? Can something of such unimaginable scale be cured of such a disease?
