The people of Lancet Falls, Idaho are changing, and it's all because of an otherworldly light that only a few can see, but the changes are affecting everyone. Animals are dying, people are disappearing, and what's with the men in jackets twenty years out of date showing up in the dead of night? A homeless drunk, a twelve year old from the city, a fat extortionist, a high school science teacher, and a reporter are the first to feel its effects. They're able to do things that no human should be able to do, but will it be enough? Will their newfound abilities be enough to save the town from a threat to its very reality?

In order to stay alive and off the killer's radar, Silas moves in with a doctor and an officer who helped save him, but as he spends time with them, Silas discovers a side to normal people that he's never gotten to see. This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
