Scribblings: Essays, Musings and Reviews
Wilting under the pressure of overwhelming public opinion (I am easily overwhelmed), I am publishing here essays, pondering and reviews (OK, blogs) that I wrote for my author site, Bookmasque, between January 2012 and August 2013. Since closing the site, it has often been suggested by some well-meaning readers and friends (and my mother) that I should put them together and publish them. Well, here they are.
What you will find here are blogs on a wide range of topics, though literature and writing, as you'd expect, rank high in frequency. You will also find thoughts on publishing, theatre, siblings, some longer book reviews and other assorted life and death issues.
The writings are not in strict chronological order, nor will I post them by category, though I will include a broad categorisation for each one I post. My aim is to post at least 2 each week and I would like to think that those of you who do read them will take the time to share your thoughts with me, and perhaps even debate with me or each other, by leaving a comment.
Bookmasque is no more. Eventually, I realised that I was spending time blogging that I could have spent actually writing books. But I don't think the time putting down these thoughts was wasted. I hope you agree.
