She is thrown into dangerous waters after she is gifted to Ivar, who believes she is nothing good but a pretty distraction, until he learns of her true talents, using her to his advantage for his growing army against the Christians of England, and the usurper, Lagertha.

What if the legend of the nameless gods were true? Can there exist on earth a love so boundless that it reflects that of two deities? Ragnar, father of Ivar and his brothers, leads his children to a devastated village near Kattegat. Among the rubble of what remains of a house, little Ivar, only three years old, finds a baby girl still wrapped in swaddling clothes. She is taken to Kattegat, where she will grow up with the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok. But what fate awaits Ivar and the baby? Two best friends, bound by deep feelings, find themselves torn apart by betrayal: he betrays her, and she flees, helped by someone very close to Ivar. After years of absence, she returns with a new identity, new alliances and...two twin sons (All characters are by the original creators, except Tyra and others I will introduce. Not everything will follow the "Vikings" series faithfully.) I was persuaded to write this story because there are so few complete stories about Ivar, and none of them are exactly how I would like to read them. Although many are wonderful. Ivar the Boneless. A name that brought fear to anyone who heard it. He was ruthless and cruel, lacked any sort of empathy. But a strong hearted, stubborn new girl was determined to not just be his wife that would bear him sons. No, she was determined to challenge him, prove to himself there was more then just power and hate. Would she be able to show him what love meant? Or would she crack under the pressure? Melti wanted nothing more then to go home. After promises were made between her father and Ivar the Boneless. She was stuck in Kattegat, with no friends or family. She did not wish to be another pawn to Ivar's plan but slowly the trauma and stories behind Ivar's past started to make sense to why he was the way he was. Even sharing her childhood stories with him, making there bond stronger. But he was playing a game of cat and mouse with her. Was everything he said true? Or was it all part of his sick game?
