Off the coast of Ireland lies a secret. And it's about to change everything for Eden O'Doherty.

It's 1945, and strange things have been happening on Rathlin Island. Even after 14 years, rumors are still flying about how Eden's mother vanished into the sea. Her father refuses to acknowledge the rumors, and the only other person with answers is unwilling -- or afraid -- to speak.

When an evil woman emerges from the sea whispering her name, Eden knows that whatever happened to her mother is bigger than she had thought. And when her legs become a mermaid tail, she realizes that it'll be up to her to solve the mystery of her mother's disappearance, even if it means leaving the only world she's ever known to risk her life in a world she's only imagined.

With help from her best friend Aidan, her housekeeper and tutor Merida, and a myriad of hidden allies, Eden sets off on a quest to reunite her family and prevent evil from overturning the world whose people she has come to love.

An original story with themes centering around abuse and neglect, abandonment, friendship, family, and what it means to truly love people.
