The Princess and the Pauper, Book 1, Frencol...
A dramatic romance, complete in itself but also the first 'Companion Book' as prelude to the series, #TheFrencolianChronicles.
Princess, Arletta, who lives in the early Medieval kingdom of Klavon believes she has two problems, one is insolvable, the other, she hopes to be able to solve for herself. The first problem is that she lives in a world dominated by men; namely her father, the King, and her brother, the Crown Prince. The second problem is that she wants to marry for love, not for position, and certainly not a marriage arranged by her father.
A pauper she spies at the beginning of this story turns out to be a prince; but the man who proposes to her seems an ordinary man with no background of nobility.
Royalty, Poverty, Riches and Rags, with Escape and Capture, all make for a contrasting of emotions and drama from beginning till end. Is she strong enough to leave her life as a princess and run away to marry and live the life of a pauper's wife? Can she be happy if she leaves the castle and lives in a shepherd's hut? Will it all work out for a 'happily every after' ending for Arletta and her chosen husband? -Then, when everything turns to dread disaster, due to the conqueror, Grahgor, will she ever find her way back with meaning and purpose to her life?
