All Hope Is Gone
"I'm a what?" I asked incredulously.
He sighed and ran a shaking hand through his hair. His face wore a worried look, and his eyes were constantly checking our surroundings. "A Shifter. Changling. I just told you." He sighed and closed his eyes. "I shouldn't have," he muttered.
I cocked an eyebrow and pursed my lips. "A 'Shifter'?" I looked behind me, wondering what he was looking for. "What the heck is that supposed to-"
He covered my mouth, slammed me against the wall and whispered something under his breath. I glared at him and struggled under his grip. His jaw hardened and he held me tighter.
God, what is wrong with him? I thought.
As I was about to shove him off of me, a sing-song voice rang out. "Oh, Chaangglinngg. Where are yoouu?"
My eyes widened as a figure stepped into the shop. It stood at roughly 7 feet tall, crouching in the shop. It's eyes bulged out of its skull, and its skin drooped off its bones. It's 'rag doll' figure stood lazily, but the smile on its hideous face said otherwise. A smell of sulfur filled the shop, and I fought the urge to gag. His eyes roved the shop greedily.
Still gripping me tightly, he cursed softly and looked me in the eyes. His face was full of terror. Whispering, he said, "Stay quiet, don't touch anything. Don't go near it." I shot a terrified and confused look at him. Shaking his head, he took my hand and motioned me towards the exit. I gulped and took a few tentative steps.
"What is that?" I mouthed to him.
He shot a quick look at it and leaned into my ear. "It's a Hunter. He's here for you."
"Why?" I asked loudly. His eyes widened and the Hunter faced us, grinning. My hand covered my mouth, but too late. The Hunter laughed and slowly walked towards us.
