Deviations from canon (as of May 1, 2018):
-Luke's appearance is slightly older. 
-Anakin is alive. (Of course Anakin's alive.)
-Rey is a Skywalker.

Ben Solo (Kylo Ren)'s slaughter of the New Jedi Order still occurs due to Snoke's influence. Under guilt for his actions (which led to the death of many, including, in his assumption, the loss of his daughter), Luke Skywalker still goes into hiding on Ahch-To. However, this time, he's not alone.

And more than a decade after father and son's seclusion from the larger galaxy, Rey will find them.

What if they could go back and stop the Empire from ever happening? What if they could stop their father from decending into the dark side? What if they could prevent the destruction of the Jedi? What if they could stop the Emperor before he even started? Minor spoilers for Clone Wars, Rebels and possibly Mandalorian. I say minor because it's mostly just easter eggs here and there and the rest you're smart enough to figure out on your own.
