It started because of an ancient war. A destiny that came, of which she never wanted. A destiny that nobody in her family ever wanted. The destiny of her father's death. Now, all seventeen year old Britt is trying to do is get her life back on track. Although, with the lack of her father's presence in her life, she continues to find it complicated to do so. She feels it's her fault that he died, although nobody knows the real reason how Michael Andresen died, but Britt wants to find out.
Britt suddenly finds herself having hallucinations of a boy not much older than her, and he follows her around, being in places she never thought possible.
He seems to be everywhere she is, and she begins to become paranoid about his constant presence. As other situations start to unfold that have to do with this boy, or matters that she thinks have to do with him, like being suffocated by an invisible force, or being given thoughts of suicide and an attempt at such, she is almost convinced he is the one who was involved with the death of her father. But then something happens, and she finds out who this stranger really is, what he is, why he's here, and she discovers that not everything is always as it seems. Integrity is questioned, questions are answered, and Britt uncovers a truth about her father she never saw coming.
An ancient war, an outcast, a dangerous love.
