Shattered... Have you ever felt so shattered, that you couldn't leave bed? So heartbroken, you couldn't speak? So depressed, you just wanted to end it? Trust me, I understand those feelings. I understood them long before my life was ripped away. Long before I was kidnapped.
I hid behind a mask, pretending to be a happy, cheerful girl, and everyone believed my facade. But there's a point where you can't pretend anymore. Where they all see how shattered you really are.
For most people it happens once, for me, at least three. I didn't ask for any of this to occur, but it did. And now I'm paying the price. My mind is shattered, my heart is shattered, my life is shattered, I'm shattered.
"I am a complete stranger. You know nothing about me, so how the hell can you think we're somehow meant to be?" I paused, narrowing my eyes. "I have done nothing to be dragged into this shit, so. Let. Me. Go."
His face hardened, the same frown forming on his lips. "How many times do I have to tell you no?" He rubbed his temples, a stressed expression plaguing him. "However many times it takes for you to say yes," I remarked bitterly.
"Let me tell you something Jess, I have been nice and gentle with you. I will never let you leave, no matter what. Get that in your head. Keep up this behavior and you won't like the consequences."
I abruptly stood, ignoring whatever shit he had to say. He roughly grabbed my wrist, stopping me from advancing towards the door. "Where do you think you're going?" He questioned darkly, a threat laying somewhere deep within.
"Anywhere but here." I jerked my arm away, continuing to walk. I turned the doorknob, finding it unlocked. "Take one step out and watch what happens."
