Jaimie Ingrid is a soldier in training. Daughter of a prominent Northern Colonel, her personality is often misaligned from those of most of the economically fortunate trainees her age. Rather than openly seeking the limelight, she kept to herself and tried to stay unnoticed. Her trust in others had been locked up tight ever since the disappearance of both her mother and older brother. Since then, Jaimie has learned to expect the worse of everyone. After all, why place trust in someone who only plans to stab you in the back?
Chance Slater had no idea what he'd gotten himself into when he was assigned by his father to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy man living in the Midwest Sector. Part of a rebel organization hidden on the border of the South and the West, Chance is determined to serve the organization the best he can... and to impress his parents who have set high standards for their son.
