Dan was a little late for class, his alarm didn't wake him up and he had to stand in the office for about ten minutes to try and get them to understand why he was late without using actual speech. He walked into his class and sat in the back, nobody noticing him because no one cared about the invisible kid that never talked. He pulled out his drawing notebook and continued drawing. The drawing seemed sad and deep, with one side being white with a bright, colourful tree, the other side being black with a dull, grey coloured tree. On the colourful side, there was a colourful person. The person didn't have a face or anything, it just seemed to be a genderless person. The same with on the dull side, except the person had some dull colours. But they met in the middle, the dull colours on the hand of the dull coloured person becoming bright and colourful as they held hands. The drawing had taken Dan weeks to do, being one of his drawings he actually took the time to do, but never showed anyone. He was always a bit too scared to, if he was honest. As he continued drawing, he didn't really pay attention to the lesson being taught and the teachers never came back to ask him about it, judging by how he didn't speak. The boy next to him looked at the drawing, tapping Dan's shoulder and nearly scaring the shit out of him.
"Um...hi," the boy mumbled quietly, giving Dan a small smile. Dan waved at the boy. "I like your drawing," the boy nodded towards the drawing.
Dan looked down at it, shrugging and looking back up at the raven-haired boy. He was quite thin, by the looks of it. Dan noticed how he had his arms tightly around his stomach, tilting his head to the side.
'What's your name?' Dan wrote on a paper and handed it to the small and fragile boy. He looked up, sighing.
"Phil," He said. "Phil Lester."
