My Big Brother

Elizabeth Hallows has to pack up her things, and move across the country- to California, after her mother and stepdad are severely injured at work. Their employment is highly top secret- and something Elizabeth will never be informed about. After a blunder at the office, her parents are rushed to the hospital, barely breathing.
Elizabeth is taken by a social worker named Erica, who contacts her closest, healthiest, relative, her father. Elizabeth is immediately rushed home to pack her suitcase, then shipped off to the next flight going to Florida, where she takes another plane to California, the golden state.
Moving on, Elizabeth stays with her dad, who she rarely ever saw twice a year, after he divorced her mother. With that, she reunites with her brother, Nathan, who she hasn't seen in four years.
However, Elizabeth feels out of place. Her brother is very different than her- with a mop of brown hair, green eyes, and a constant need to eat everything. Plus, he enjoys sports and parties, two of the things Elizabeth despises. She'd rather curl up with Samuel, her intelligent cat, and read a book, than hit the lacrosse field for some shooting practice. Yuck.
To make matters worse, the two male relatives are ridiculously wealthy, with a grand mansion, countless maids, and a whale tank as a pool. It doesn't compare to the tiny suburban house she lived in Connecticut- which makes her feel even more of an outsider.
Can she learn to live in California, in this unfamiliar world? Will Elizabeth be able to fit in at her new high school, with her brother, and adjust to her new life?
