Calling Darkness

10 parts Ongoing Mature

On the same day Kahlan receives the gift of magic, her world is shattered. Consumed by a newfound relentless thirst for revenge, she turns to her uncle, the enigmatic King of the Forest, for guidance. He reveals that her homeland is under threat: invaders known as the Outsiders have come to strip the Forest of it's ancient magic, leaving it barren and lifeless. While the threat of the Outsiders looms, and Kahlan trains to master her newfound power, she becomes entangled in a dangerous web of secrets and shifting alliances at her uncle's court. Grieving and angry, Kahlan embarks on a dangerous path, setting aside her ideals to pursue vengeance by any means necessary. However, in the shadowed halls of her uncle's crumbling castle, secrets lurk at every turn. Kahlan discovers that not everyone can be trusted - perhaps not even herself.
