All my life I could run away. Benefits of my dad being in the military. Until he retired. Then I have no where to run to, at least not until I'm eighteen. -------- Kane Cook is a fifteen year old girl. Her parents names her Kane cause in Kanji it means "fighter", but she is anything but. She runs. And she can, her father was in the military, moving them every two to three years saving her. It always repeats. The lies, the hate, the pain. But what happens when she moves and can't escape. Her few true friends are halfway across the country, and her other is just to busy to visit. Here in Idaho, known as the Gem State, she feels like a piece of cobble. You can't do anything with it. Not only that, but when it does start again, her stupid crush just has to help her, and be a stupid friend torturing Kane day and night. ------- "When pain comes, just sing a little song." Is what my mom always said. She gave me happy songs, like "Count Your Blessings" or "I Am A Child Of God" but my little jingle. The jingle that gets rid of the pain, "Pain pain, go away, please go and wash away." And everyday, counting to the last second until I can run away, I sing that. I can't, no won't cry, I will not break. I will not fight, I'll do the only thing I'm any good at. I Will Run
