"Too many of us fail to understand the corruption in the world. Every day, torture. Every day, agony and bloodshed. We can never rid of it permanently." She then squeezed my shoulder. Hard. "But we do our very best."
In 2089, when all of Europe has gone to war, only little stabilization remains in America. Split into twenty Divisions, those who live here are threatened by homelessness, starvation, and living among bare ruins. However, the ACA hopes to preserve peace.
Lynn Kramer, also known as Agent Fifty-Three, joined the ACA after the loss of her mother to the war effort. Distraught after her death, abandoned by her once-loving father, Lynn has lost everything. It is the ACA - wholesome and welcoming - that provides her only home. Hardworking and determined, Lynn must soon make choices that will define who she is and what she believes in. But with vicious killers on the loose, no one can be trusted anymore.
After years of searching for his long lost parents, not to mention a rocky at-home life, Nolan Hood is more than ready for change. And the ACA might be just that. Strong-willed and passionate, Nolan believes that the ACA is just the place for him. Devoid of secrets. Devoid of the pain he has become so familiar with. But Nolan will soon wonder if the ACA has more mysteries than answers. And if he, always desperate to prove his loyalty, will find what he's really looking for.
After conquering many threats across the U.S., the ACA might soon be experiencing their greatest challenge yet. "The Kings", a group that has been terrorizing Division 11 for weeks now, has been rapidly increasing in number. And on one of their first real missions for the ACA, Lynn and Nolan must learn to work together. Even if it means putting their lives at risk.
