Crash Into Me
I looked at him and he looked at me. Two people brought together by one accident. One mistake. He reaches forward and he cups my cheek, wiping the tear away softly with his thumb. I wish I could tell him everything I felt. Everything I wanted, but I just couldn’t. “Emma,” He breathes out the question and I look up into his wanting eyes. The pools of green pulled me in and I looked away, moving my cheek out of his reach. “I can’t Ace, I just...can’t.”
Meet Emma Summers. After the traumatic and terrifying car accident that took her parent's lives, she could never be more angry and stubborn. From having a family to lean on to no close family at all, the sweet girl suddenly grows fierce and independent. She's sick and tired of the sympathy and sorry looks she has to put up with every single day. It's at times like those, that she can't help but think how easy it would've been if she had died in that car accident with them.
Now, meet Ace Parker. He's a bad, arrogant smartass who doesn't give a shit. He's also the the boy who saved Emma's life. He wanted to leave, to run away after seeing what he had just seen, but once he saw that innocent girl on the cement floor, he couldn't leave. One year later, he learns to hate Emma. Wherever he is, whatever he is doing, the image of her ill state stops him. Hell, she is everywhere! All he wants Emma to do, is disappear.
When confrontations are avoided by Emma, and loaded secrets are held by Ace, the last thing they would ever want is to be brought together. But, what happens when they are united? What happens when one assignment forces the two to put themselves into a situation, communicate and work together? Better yet, how does Emma battle her growing urge to lean on someone, to stay strong?
