Nala is a stubborn outsider in her town and isn't welcoming to change. She isolates herself from everything outside of the farm, concentrating on her dream to become a famous performer. But as she turns nineteen, she is forced to let change in and to no longer dismiss it. After Jack left the farm, a space opened up for a new ranch hand. Though Jack taught her how to perform with her horse for the five years he was there, the new kid in town also knows a trick or two about her speciality. But more doors open up than expected and she is exposed in a way she'd never even thought of. And though she becomes popular in Huto, it's for all the most unlikely reasons. She wears the diamonds but not in the way she dreamt it.
