The Unexplained (On Hold)
"You really shouldn't hide your face or your pretty hair." She looks up at me from cutting some paper and she grins. "Your hair is like pretty snow!"
/If only you knew why.../
"I like snow," Abby says. "It reminds me of crystals. They're all sparkly when lying flat in the grass...and it's so satisfying to walk through the fresh snow." She takes out a bucket full of markers and searches through them, before pulling out thick lining pens. "The crunch under your shoes is great."
Cas takes out her laptop for the research portion of the project. "You're so talkative...just work."
Time flies by fast as we work on the project, and soon a couple hours have gone by. Feeling like I overstayed my welcome, and feeling a little uncomfortable with my hood still down, I tell them it'd be a good idea for me to start heading home.
As I head out the door, I turn and I wave to Cas and Abby as they stand on their porch. "Thanks for having me over!" I smile as I pull my hood up, my face and hair covered once again.
Abby grins. "Yeah, no problem! Come tomorrow and we'll finish the project in no time!" I smile and nod as Cas waves and I start walking away, but I glance back once more and my brow furrows. As I look at them, I sense something odd again, as if there were only one person standing there, instead of two.
