To keep her family safe in the event of atomic annihilation, Briar Rose signs up to live out a possible nuclear fallout in Vault-Tec's Vault 111. But Vault-Tec takes advantage of the situation by encasing Briar Rose, her family, and all the others in cryogenic sleep. Somewhere in her slumber, her husband is killed and her son is taken from his arms.
Over 200 years later, Briar Rose wakes up. The Massachusetts she once knew is an atomic wasteland with horribly mutated creatures and dangerous humans struggling to survive. She recruits the help of a humanoid, known as Detective Nick Valentine, and they set out across the Commonwealth to find her son. Nothing will stop her.
