East hates liars. Which is ironic, because for the past two years, she's been lying her ass off to conceal the truth of what really happened on the night of the fire. Still, the rumours persisted; everyone remembers the tragedy at the Winters house, when two years ago their daughter went crazy and burned down their entire home...
But when a new series of murders rips through Edgecliff, it looks like East's game is finally up. Two fires and a dead mom hardly prove her innocence. What's worse, Asher is back in town, and no matter how strongly he claims he's only here to visit her brothers, East suspects that he saw far more than he's saying on that fateful night.
Besides, something about these killings seems remarkably familiar...
As small incidents snowball into startling revelations, East begins to realize that there might be more to her family, more to her sleepy little town, more to even herself than she could've ever imagined.
*This story contains supernatural characters that are neither werewolves nor vampires.

I hate to sound like a tryhard here but the description here is so cool!!
Instead of saying thump-thump-thump, you can just say the steady beat of my heart, or the steady thumping of my heart. The extra thumps seems kind of repetitive. Other than that, this first paragraph is amazing and immediately pulls me in. ❤️

I figured out what you meant here, but I read it at first as though she had two hearts.

I'm so happy to find a supernatural story without the vampires and werewolves.
