Strong hands hold me close. The curve of his smile weakening my knees. "You know what will happen if we are caught." I whisper nervously.
He chuckles lightly. "I know, but I have no intentions like Jesse. I will be fine." His gold flecked eye traces my jaw. "Besides, what is life without a little risk?"
Our noses brush against each other. Our breaths mingling in the small space that separates us. His eyes stop at my lips, flicking up to mine for approval. I smile broadly as he lowers his lips to mine. Gently, I fit my mouth to his, taking my time. He draws me closer to his body. A deep longing to have more of him consumes my thoughts.
How can I be in love with a Prince who has no name?
Suddenly, another pair of hands has me. His fingers are pried loose as he is pulled away. My eyes fly open to find two guards holding him back. "By order of King Lester the Fourth, all men found with the Princess in any intimate situation are to me brought before him for questioning." The portly guard announces.
The slimmer guard looks to me with an apologetic look upon his face. "We are sorry Your Highness, but, orders are orders."
I nod respectfully. "May I have a few words with him before you haul him down to the throne room?" They release his arms and move down the corridor so as not to overhear us.
I cup his face in my hands. "Don't do anything foolish."
He smiles ruefully. "I wouldn't count on that." He takes my hands off his face, holding them in his. "There is something I have been meaning to tell you. But you must swear not to tell anyone but your father and possibly your maids. If the other Princes found it out, it would not bode well for my kingdom."
My brow furrows in confusion. "What is so important?"
His eyes fill with something I can't place.
