Everyone says that things are much better now than they were in the past, but Sylvie is not so sure. Teenagers are forced into arranged marriages, people disappear if they get sick in the mind and adults live to work, instead of working to live. Sylvie has synaesthesia, she sees colours, where other people simply hear words or feel emotions. On her wedding day, Sylvie meets her new husband, Alistair, and discovers that the colour of marriage is silver. But when she meets Jarvis she finds out that the colour of love is actually lilac ...

synaesthesia is that great XD it gets annoying when the colours smell and i can see sounds, it also changes the way i read, words like run and jump and fly actually do what they say for me. it's weird

Really interesting. I wrote a very parallel story to yours called the starseed trials. But ts too long to put on here unfortunately:( it would be cool to share it with you all though.

I feel like synesthesia is like a constant acid trip, but it would still be cool.

I just found this in "undiscovered," and I'm surprised it isn't more popular. This is a beautiful concept, and it's so brilliantly written! I will keep reading. :D
