Contrast - 2012
As if adolescence wasn't already complicated enough, anomalous circumstances multiply it by a thousand times for this group of teenagers. Romance, self-discovery, accomplishment and consistent angst are all on the list of things that most deal with quite consistently, not excluding these eight kids. Just wait until they learn that it's just the beginning, and that's not even including what has already occurred before they were even added to the equation. Things get much more serious than who likes who and who has or hasn't done what when they begin to rediscover themselves. They learn that they have been synthetically altered down to the foundation of their genetics, and they begin to see themselves in a new light. Responsibility comes with shape-shifting, telepathy, force-field generation, super-speed, and many more extensive capabilities. Morals come into question. Judgement calls must be made. All the while, they are ultimately blind beyond what they are told. Their new supervisor, who identifies himself simply as "Contrast," challenges them to hone into their new abilities through their individuality, and immerses them in extreme situations for the greater good. At least allegedly, that is. How can they know for sure?
