Theodore had messed up more than once. When a candle burned down his flat, killing both of his parents, he and his brother were left to their own devices and Theodore had to overcome starvation, poverty, illness and loneliness for a very long time, but when a hand drags him out of his horrifying state, he is pulled into a world of blood and danger, which, over time, became a solace for him. But, when you have something to lose, everything changes.

The past always catches up with you.

i love the description of Josephine here. I love how she's likened to fire; she's a powerful female character and we don't often see that in books. Yay for powerful females xD

I love this first chapter. There's a unique feel to it. I'm definitely sticking out to finish the rest of this enigmatic story. Plus, the writing is A+. :)
I actually really annoyed this first chapter-keep up the good work!

that last line gave me goosebumps ahh <3 you're so talented!!
wow. this really hooked me. your descriptions are incredible! i couldn't stop reading. i'm wondering what he really do— my only guess is that he kills people since the part where he sat the gun down in the beginning.
that's my kinda playlist right there haha
the summary for this was really intriguing but Theodore accidentally killing his parents is actually horrifying, my gosh.
