Tomorrow Will Be Kinder (BoyxBoy) [COMING SO...
"Isn't it scary to be ready to die at such a young age?"
"You can't fear dying when you have no reason to live," he whispered back, looking absentmindedly at the wall.
Gripping onto Zero's bony shoulders and making sure he had his full attention, Dominick shook him. "I won't let you bury yourself," he said in a low voice.
The corner of Zero's lips quirked up into a timid smirk, as if he thought it amusing for someone to actually believe they could save him from himself.
Dominick Fiorenze, an open-minded teenage guy with the curiosity of a cat, had always been on the pauper side. Despite working two jobs with his mother, only able to afford clothing from Goodwill, and having been home-schooled his entire young life, he's never been happier. Until his mother reunites with her best friend, Sarah, that is. Sarah, now a successful doctor who resides in New York, urges Dominick and his mother to come live with her. His mother agrees, and soon, the two are off to New York.
Dominick is in charge of many things, but his favorite is bringing meals to the boy who rooms in the opposite hall of everyone else. The boy who sequesters himself to his room all day, unable to cope with reality due to such treacherous things happening to him in the past.
Slowly, the two begin to talk. Dominick finds himself developing feelings of care and protectiveness over Caden, or Zero as he refers to himself, the broken boy who struggles with self-harm and severe depression. As Dominick comes to realize his feelings for the odd other, it is brought to his attention that he has less time than he originally thought to show Zero that life has some things worth living for.
