The novel tells of the lives of a large group of characters and their "ordinary" obstacles. Characters are challenged between love, greed, obsession, and lust.    

Characters Andrew and Melissa are developing a relationship met with the odds and diversity of culture, Andrew's darker past of abuse and dominance corrupts Melissa. Melissa an innocent possessor of Beauty falls in love with the irresistible Bad Boy who unleashes hell on earth for her.                            

Mathew, an obsessive homosexual is interested in the quiet and yet intriguing Danny. Mathew is a drug lord with a large background of crime in Sydney West. Their relationship grows but their association brings death closer as Mathew manipulates Danny into his web of lies and deception.   

 Beautiful Alyssa is a kidnapped girl taken by an obsessive and crazy stalker. Alyssa is put to the test in order to devise an escape plan but comes across information that subverts her entire life, and taps into the mystical world that will leave all jaw dropped.   

 Georgie and Alex are a couple meant to be written by the Gods. Aspects in every day life threaten their marriage but also a mysterious and anonymous "Sherlock". He provides Georgie with details on her husbands secrets, leaving her with red herrings and a crime predicament that she must solve in order to bring her husband to justice and end the torment of this anonymous tipper. Will she succeed? Or will she tear her perfect life apart because of her paranoia?
