RuPaul's Drag Race: The Queens of Season Nine
RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition television series produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV, and now, as of season nine, VH1. The show documents the contestants from week to week as they are given different challenges each week, usually consisting of a mini-challenge. a main challenge, and the runway. RuPaul's Drag Race consists of a number of regular judges, such as RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Matthews, and a number of alternating guest judges.
RECENT UPDATE (9/16/17): Updated format
On February 9th, 2017, the official cast for season nine was revealed, and on March 1st, 2017, it was announced that the premiere of the ninth season would are on March 24th, 2017 on VH1, with encore presentations on Logo. Thirteen queens entered, with a fourteenth queen from a previous season returning as a twist. On June 9th, 2017, in a twist, all four remaining contestants, Peppermint, Sasha Velour, Shea Couleé and Trinity Taylor were allowed to advance to the finale. On June 16th, all fourteen queens reunited to reminisce about the events of the season. Valentina was named Miss Congeniality by the viewers. The finale was recorded on June 9th, 2017, and was aired on June 23rd, in which Sasha Velour was declared the winner, after lip-syncing against runner-up Peppermint to the Whitney Houston song "It's Not Right, But Whatever".
